World Golf Hall of Fame members Colin Montgomerie, Retief Goosen commit to 2024 Sanford International
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Two members of the World Golf Hall of Fame have officially committed to competing in the 2024 Sanford International. Colin Montgomerie and Retief Goosen will play in this year’s tournament, taking place Sept. 9-15 at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Montgomerie, who was ranked as high as No. 2 in the world during his career, has 54 professional wins on his resume that spans five decades. He won a record eight European Tour Order of Merit titles, including a streak of seven in a row from 1993-99. Since joining the PGA TOUR Champions in 2013, the Scotland native has seven victories including three senior majors. His best finish at the Sanford International was a T2 in 2019.
The 2001 and 2004 U.S. Open Champion, Retief Goosen has 34 professional wins and was awarded the European Tour Player of the Year in 2001. He was picked for the Presidents Cup in 2000, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011. The World Golf Hall of Fame member has finished T7 twice at Sanford International – in 2019 and 2021. He is currently in 14th place in the Charles Schwab Cub standings thanks to a win this year at the Galleri Classic.
Tickets to the Sanford International are now on sale. Patrons may purchase tickets at sanfordinternational.com. There are a number of ticket options available including PREMIER Club badges, daily grounds passes, weekend grounds passes and packages that include food and merchandise.
The Sanford International is the reigning recipient of the PGA TOUR Champion’s Fan First Award. The honor is presented to the PGA TOUR Champions event that goes above and beyond to create an elevated experience for every type of fan. All 28 PGA TOUR Champions events are eligible for the award.
