Press Release – Open champions Daly, Calcavecchia and PGA TOUR Champions rookie DiMarco commit to Sanford International

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – PGA TOUR Champions golfers John Daly, Mark Calcavecchia and Chris DiMarco, have officially committed to playing in the inaugural Sanford International Presented by Cambria.

Daly, a native of Carmichael, California, has 5 career PGA TOUR wins, including his improbable win at the 1991 PGA Championship (which was recently named the 2nd greatest PGA Championship moment by CBS Sports). In 1995 Daly was “the golfer of the year” because of his 1995 Open victory at St. Andrews. His long drives and infamous guitar playing will make him an exciting addition to the growing Sanford International field.

Calcavecchia is from Laurel, Nebraska and is excited to play for family and friends at this year’s inaugural event. He is a 13-time winner on the PGA TOUR and a 4-time winner on the Champions Tour, including this year’s Boca Raton Championship. Calcavecchia’s most notable victory may be his Open Championship in 1989 at Royal Troon when he beat Greg Norman and Wayne Grady in a playoff.

DiMarco is a notable PGA TOUR Champions rookie this year. The Orlando, Florida native has 3 PGA TOUR Victories and 1 International Victory at the 2006 Abu Dhabi Golf Championship. DiMarco may be best remembered for his epic battle and 2nd place finish behind Tiger Woods at the 2005 Masters. DiMarco was a member of the 2003 and 2005 President’s Cup team, as well as a member of the 2004 and 2006 Ryder Cup Team.

Tickets to the inaugural Sanford International Presented by Cambria are now on sale. Patrons may purchase tickets at www.sanfordinternational.com or by phone at 877-748-3376. Tickets start at $10.
